I have been coming to Piatti’s since I was in high school. It’s a great modern Italian place in the Quarry (near Alamo Heights/Lincoln Heights) with amazing food. Once I was diagnosed with Celiac disease, I thought I would be completely out of luck, but their chef is incredibly knowledgeable about gluten and takes extra precautions every time I’m in. Usually, I get the Rotisserie chicken that’s not on the menu (AMAZING!). It comes with a giant carrot and the best mashed potatoes I’ve ever had in my life. This past weekend, I was there, and I mentioned my gluten allergy to our server. He told me that they now always carry gluten free pasta for their Celiac/Gluten Intolerant customers, and they make sure to use brand new clean pans, pots, gloves, etc. when dealing with celiac patrons. The picture below is of the gluten free pasta they made me with their amazing (and Naturally GF) bolognese sauce. I’m not sure which brand of GF pasta they used, but it was so good I couldn’t stop eating. This is a great option for San Antonio Celiacs. Just make sure you be very clear about your allergy, and they should be very accommodating. The next time I’m in San Antonio, I will have to go here twice so I can get my go-to Rotisserie chicken and have this pasta again. :) It was so good!!!
