Schlotsky's is a restaurant chain that I used to go to all the time in middle school and high school. Ever since I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, I've really missed their bread and their warm, delicious sandwiches. More than anything, though, their sandwiches are just a vehicle to dip in their awesome signature Schlotsky's sauce. Luckily, they've recently partnered up with Udi's, so I can once again eat their awesome sandwiches.
I definitely didn't go to the prettiest location and really the locations in Austin are much nice looking than most of the locations I've been to in San Antonio, but I'm definitely going to try to support their business because I'm so happy they're making an effort to cater to Celiacs and gluten intolerant people. They have a corporate gluten free cross contamination prevention protocol (see below), and the guy I ordered from knew all about it, so I was pretty excited.
You order at the counter and then take a number
I ordered a gluten free Smoked Turkey Original. The gluten free sandwiches all come in one size because they have a standard size Udi's bun.
I will DEFINITELY be back :)
